No Way Home Andrew Garfield Leak Is Real, Claims VFX Video

Real-life VFX artists have apparently put the issue of Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man: No Way Home leak to bed with a new video dissecting it.

The saga of whether Andrew Garfield is in Spider-Man: No way Home continues with a VFX video stating that the allegedly leaked footage of him on set is real. As has been widely discussed on the internet, the month of December Spider-Man: No Path Home has the potential to be the web-slinger’s greatest film to date thanks to an adventure that plunges him directly into the multiverse. After one of Doctor Strange’s (Benedict Cumberbatch) spells go awry, Tom Holland’s Peter Parker will find himself facing a multiversal crisis that will bring back Spider-Man actors from the past like Alfred Molina and Jamie Foxx.

It is also said that Spider-Man: No Path Home will feature Peter Holland’s predecessors, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. Understandably, Marvel and those associated with the film have not confirmed their attendance, but all reports so far indicate that they will be holding cameos in the film. Regarding Garfield in particular, the actor himself said he was not in Spider-Man: No Way Home, even after leaked footage appeared to show it on set. Garfield claimed the footage was faked, but when someone came forward claiming to have thoroughly tampered with it, it was then debunked.

The idea that the leaked Garfield video is fake has been debunked in a new feature from Corridor Crew. VFX artists Niko and Sam sat down to dissect the supposed Spider-Man: No Path Home put pictures and determined if this is really a deepfake. Their conclusion? It’s not. Members of the Corridor Crew even explain why the original debunked deepfake video could be so easily disproved. Check out the full video below.

This, more than anything, makes it seem like it could be solid proof that Garfield is in fact in Spider-Man: No Path Home. The images could be from one of Garfield’s previous outings as Spider-Man, but his appearance doesn’t quite match his appearance in 2012 or 2014. However, as it still seems unlikely that Marvel or Garfield will confirm his role until closer to the film, this debate will likely continue to rage. Spider-Man: No Path Home has the potential to include massive distribution, and Garfield just might be included. We just won’t know.

Spider-Man: No Path Home is set to feature a cast made up of both returning MCU players and those from past iterations of the character. The trailer for the film has already confirmed Molina’s appearance and hints at Willem Dafoe’s return as Green Goblin. In other words, longtime Spider-Man fans will surely enjoy watching No way home unravel. I just hope it doesn’t disappoint, as Garfield previously warned.
