On paper, this little trick should to be possible. The Apple Watch uses a Qi-based charger, after all, and your AirPod wireless charging case also supports Qi load. Instead of plugging in your wireless charging case, you should be able to place it directly on your Apple Watch's charger to give it some juice. Right?
Whether you have seen this picture, a similar picture, or you had the crazy idea that this little hack could avoid you with a cable, I have a bubble burst. This trick does not work. Many people have rung through different communities to indicate that. And no, you can not just place your AirPods directly on the Apple Watch charger.
The odd part of this "hacking", however, is that some people still claim to be able to get paid for their wireless AirPod case. If this is true, it requires exact positioning on your part, which means that you can not simply tap on the wireless charging case of your Apple Watch charger as you wish and expect what you're looking for. Something is happening:
Even in this case, your wireless charging box might not actually be charge:
And please, do not let this technology incite you to do other insane things:
Rather than waste hours of your life worrying about it, I have a better idea. You can purchase many third-party wireless charging configurations that make it easy to charge your iPhone, AirPod, and Apple Watch at the same time. They tend to go from a relatively high price to a very high price, but this is the best way to consolidate your charging setup in one place. If you use a cheaper non-branded charger, make sure you have done your homework and read product reviews before you buy them. It's better to let others talk about the quality of a charger – if it works very well at all – than being stuck with a misfire.
