Noah Cyrus used a racist term to defend Harry Styles

“I am mortified that I used a term without knowing the context and the story.”

Earlier this week, the singer took to Instagram to defend Harry Styles for wearing a dress in his badass Vogue cover last month.

After the cover came out, Tory expert Candace Owens – who happens to be a black woman – tweeted “Bring back the manly men”, to which Harry got the best response.

No society can survive without strong men. The East knows it. In the West, the regular feminization of our men at the same time as Marxism is taught to our children is no coincidence. It is an outright attack. Bring back the manly men. https://t.co/sY4IJF7VkK

In his own IG article, Noah wrote: “He wears this dress better than anything [you] diaper heauxz, “and, I just … wow.

Naturally, his racist comment drew negative reactions.

Noah Cyrus called Candace Owens a hats diaper and thought we were finna laughing ????

People weren’t buying her excuse that she didn’t know what diaper meant:

I don’t subscribe to Noah’s “I didn’t know” excuse, it’s 2020, you know what diaper means

Noah finally apologized for her remark and said she was “mortified” for “using a term without knowing the context”.

However, his apology was not accepted by everyone.

Noah Cyrus excuse / excuse is not accepted by me! Among all the insults you could have said, you chose “NAPPY!” You said it about black women, to that

“Nappy is not an insult, but Noah really tried,” wrote a black woman alongside a photo of her hair.

“Proud of these diaper roots!” another black woman tweeted with a photo of her locks.

#noahcyrus what’s good ?! Proud of these diaper roots! Let me guess you got a black friend, so can you tell? Nah! #nappy #happy

Hopefully Noah will think about it before posting next time. Or at least not to use words whose historical context she does not know.
