NEW ORLEANS – The NOPD is investigating a gunshot homicide that occurred today (September 26, 2021) in the 6800 block of East Coronet Court.
At approximately 12:55 p.m., NOPD officers from the Seventh District responded to a call for aggravated bodily harm by shooting at the scene. Upon arrival, officers found a 33-year-old man with one or more gunshot wounds inside a vehicle. The victim was declared dead on the spot.
Investigators are currently gathering evidence and information to identify the person (s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive.
No further details are available at this time. The Orléans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and the official cause of death once the autopsy has been completed and the family notified.
