Several players from the Normandy high school girls’ basketball team have broken their silence over the racist comments made to them by a game announcer … and they are calling for action.
It’s a powerful thing.
The players teamed up with a famous civil rights lawyer Ben crump – who has worked with the families of several high profile victims of police or racial violence … from Ahmaud Arbery at Breonna Taylor, George floyd, and Jacob blake.
Crump held a press conference on Monday with several of the players and their families – all of whom spoke Matt Rowan, the announcer who started the n-word to the team for their decision to take a knee during the national anthem.

As we stated previously, Rowan’s comments were caught on a burning mic – and people at home could hear him denigrate NHS players who were protesting to highlight police brutality and racial injustice.
During his rant, Rowan said he hopes the Normandy team get their asses kicked on the pitch that night.
Rowen then apologized for his language – and said he was a Type 1 diabetic who loses his ability to censor himself when his blood sugar is high, which he says happened that night.
FYI, the Norman high school girls’ basketball team won the 6-A Oklahoma State Championship over the weekend.
Players say they were obviously hurt and shocked by the comments – but they are proud of how they stood together as a team and still won the entire tournament!
Ben Crump says there are no plans to take legal action just yet … but continued to praise the team for thriving at such a difficult time.
Hello to the champions !!
