The 3DS is easily one of the largest Nintendo systems of all time thanks to its vast library of games and its sophisticated features that have propelled the game on handheld to a higher level. At the end of his career, Nintendo seems to have officially phased out the 3D model on its North American website.

As spotted by the Twitter user @AkfamilyhomeAK, the 3DS section of the web page announces more than 2DS systems:

The 2DS system proved to be the most accessible and affordable system, but we had never imagined that it would survive what is essentially the top model. The slogan "see what the Nintendo 3DS family can do" on the display, can also be a little confusing now that there is not a 3DS in sight.

This change is not necessarily reflected on other Nintendo websites in different regions. Some still show the 3DS and the 3DS XL, as well as where you can buy these devices. To date, the entire 3DS family has sold more than 75 million units worldwide.

Are you surprised to see Nintendo promoting 3DS exclusively with the 2DS range? Share your thoughts below.
