RALEIGH, North Carolina (WTVD) – Severe weather warnings littered central North Carolina on Thursday, but the majority of the region escaped unscathed.

Despite several tornado warnings, the only report of damage in the area was in Orange County.

In the Cedar Grove neighborhood, trees were uprooted, roofs were damaged, a basketball hoop was snapped in half and a trampoline was seen flying across the street.

The National Weather Service is deploying an investigation team to examine the damage and determine if it was caused by a tornado or straight-line winds.

This team will begin examining the damage in Guilford County at 8 a.m. and then head east.

Storms left the area Thursday evening, but rain will linger until Friday.

Temperatures started in the 1950s on Friday, but will get colder as the day progresses. You can expect it to be quite windy for most of the day as well.

Saturday and Sunday will see temperatures in the 50s, with more sun on Saturday and more heat on Sunday.
