New record in number of tropical days

On Thursday, there were 19 consecutive days of tropical heat in Gulsvik, Flå, Buskerud. The record of 63 years for the number of tropical days in a row was thus beaten.

– More than 31 heats have been measured in the middle of today, says meteorologist Jostein Mamen at P4.

Kongsberg at Buskerud had the old record of 1955. It was 18 days in a row with tropical heat.

There are new records in the summer. According to meteorologists, strong pressure across Norway will last ten days ahead. Several places in the country have reported temperatures above 30 degrees, which is considered a tropical heat.
