On Sunday, seven years have passed since the terrorist attack on the government district and the AUF summer camp in Utøya. 77 people were killed on July 22, 2011.

One of the victims was Tore Eikeland, 21, from Valestrand in Osterøy. Eikeland was the leader at Hordaland AUF and was described by Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg as one of the party's most talented young people.

The football enthusiast is politically interested in 14 years and has excelled with his bright tales. , and he was on the list of elections in the fall of 2011 to become one of the party representatives on the county council.

Remember his vision

In 2013, the family and Peter Slowe founded the founder of Projects Abroad – one of the world's largest volunteers, Tore Eikelands legacy. The goal was to continue and recall the visions and ideals of Tore.

– His idea was that we are incredibly privileged in Norway. This is not the case in many other countries, especially in Africa. He thought that education was the solution for a country, says Fr. Ragnar Eikeland, who in the years following his death was the leader of the Hordaland Support Group.

Brother Robert Eikeland is today one of the council members. Until now, the cure has helped 400 children in Ghana and South Africa. Here they receive an education and learn politics and democracy.

Encourages political discussion

The Eikeland family has visited one of the schools. When they arrived at Akokoa village in Ghana, the name of Tore Eikeland pointed to them on a sign along the road.

– They had been working as obsessed in the last days to get the panel with his name. He was incredibly strong, says Ragnar Eikeland

The heirloom also runs a school in the village of Lavender Hill in South Africa. The focus on both schools is an intellectual stimulus and a call for political discussion. Of course, the formation by the debate is part of the life of the school.
