New singer tonight

Kvelertaks manager Kim Paulsen confirms in a press release at 11:55 pm that Ivar Nikolaisen (39) is the group's new singer.

It's Monday that singer Erlend Hjelvik reported in a Facebook post that his time in the hardcore / metal band Kvelertak is over.

– There is no easy way to say it, so I'm getting right to the point. In Facebook's post, Hjelvik writes that "for reasons beyond his control", he will not be able to attend the last four concerts planned in Norway this summer, and sorry for that.

Kvelertak has, among others, shot with big bands like Metallica and Mastodon, played with Slayer and Anthrax, and has warmed up for Foo Fighters, Iron Maiden and Kiss here in Norway.

I In the autumn, the hardcore / metal band goes to the studio to record their next album, which is scheduled for release in 2019. It will also be the first album without Erlend Hjelvik as the first character and singer.

The Stavanger-based group was launched in 2007 and today includes Erlend Hjelvik, Bjarte Lund Rolland, Maciek Ofstad, Vidar Landa, Kjetil Gjermundrød and Marvin Nygaard. Now it is clear that Ellend Hjelvik will be replaced by Ivar Nikolaisen.
