Audi confirms the launch date of e-tron quattro

[ad_1]

Audi announces today that it will present the production edition of the e-trone quattro on September 17 in San Francisco.

Audi had originally planned to show off its new electric car at an event on August 30 in Brussels, but this was reversed. Several sources thought that this had something to do with the arrest of Audi boss, Rupert Stadler, as part of the diesel scandal, but Audi claimed that they were just going to move the launch towards United States.

This will be the first time we hear the final specifications, not least, what will be the price.

What is the price?

Audi has already announced that the car will cost around 80,000 euros in Germany, which, net of Norwegian VAT, will be about 640,000 Norwegian kroner. This does not seem to be such a bad estimate, we will believe our sources at Audi in Norway.

It will put the car at about the same level as Jaguar i-Pace (£ 599,900 in the cheapest edition), and it will be slightly cheaper than the Tesla Model X, from 703,720 $.

Of these, the e-throne was notified to receive a battery of 95 kWh. The i-Pace has 90, while the Tesla Model X starts at 75 kWh.

Unlike Norway, where stakeholders have long been able to pay a deposit to get a place in the queue, potential customers in the United States have not had this opportunity . This will open after the launch, Audi reports.

Digital Ecosystem

They also report that they are creating a "digital ecosystem" where reservation holders will be able to follow the entire process online.

Public Relations Manager Morten Moum of Audi Norway says he does not know as much as what they have published in press releases.

He says that they have rounded 4800 bookings in Norway and that it is still early in 2019 that applies.

– However, it should be mentioned that the suspension bracket will be available as an option, as the possibility of suspension is important for Norwegian customers, "explains Moum.

Here are some key points from what we already know about e-throne up to now.

  • An estimated range of "more than 400 kilometers" according to WLTP
  • 430 horsepower, capable of boosting 496 horsepower for short periods
  • 4-wheel drive
  • Electronic limited speed limit of 210 km / h
  • ] Loading speed with power up to 150 kW
  • Can be delivered with cameras instead of side mirrors.
  • The conceptual model has a drag coefficient of 0.25.

Recently, they also showed inside the car.
