After many difficult years, Opel was sold last year by US General Motors (GM) to French PSA.

It came after Opel lost money for many years. In the end, the Americans discovered that doing enough was enough – and let PSA take over.

And they certainly are not on their side after taking control of Opel. The goal is very clear: the Opel can not lose any more money, it is now necessary to make profits.

To achieve this, there is talk of extensive cooperation for the development of new car models. Here, there is great potential for savings.

Has been sold in Norway

Now, Opel will also participate in the selection of the model. Specifically, three cars disappear and are not replaced.

This applies to two small cars and a convertible. The first two are Adam and Karl, the last one is Cascada. Of these, only Adam was marketed and sold in Norway.

This car actually bears the name of the founder of Opel Adam Opel. It was launched in 2012 and has sold very well in the beginning.

Forgotten car on the bargain market

New importer in Norway

By the way, it's not only internationally, there have been a lot of Opel in recent years. Earlier this year, it was also known that they would be a new importer in Norway. Bertel O. Steen bought 100% of the shares of Opel Norge AS, thus acquiring the right to import and sell Opel passengers and vans in Norway.

Bertel O. Steen is already an importer of PSA Group's three passenger car brands: Peugeot, Citroën and DS. So, in many ways, Opel could have ended up in the cards.

Opel is in a phase of major changes after their sale of General Motors to PSA French. Now they have cut three of their car models, among them Karl in the photo above.
