A statue of Egyptian Egyptian football star Mohamed Salah has become a walkie-talkie. The artist receives criticism for the work.

Many think that the similarities between Salah and art are not very big. A big head, a long upper body, short, thin arms and legs were unveiled at a youth meeting in Egypt on Monday.

Compared to Maurstad and Eggen

Some think that the statue looks like other people. The comedian Espen Lervaag believes that the similarities are greater between the statue and the actor Toralv Maurstad.

He is also compared to the former player of the national team Dan Eggen.

Others believe it similar to the legendary musician Art Garfunkel.

The artist responds to criticism

It's the work of Mai Abdullah. He defended himself by saying that the work had been used for educational purposes as part of an Internet course.

"I do not get close to the negative comments," Abdullah said.

Last year, a bust of Cristiano Ronaldo was ridiculed after his unveiling in Portugal.

– Not even Jesus made people happy. It's a matter of taste and it's not as simple as it sounds. I've seen works by great artists using the same principles, said sculptor Emmanuel Santos at the Brazilian newspaper Globo.
