The Consumer Council believes that bonus plans for discounts on airplanes and other credit cards further stimulate debt collection. Therefore, they want a ban on bonuses.

The reason is that bonuses are increasingly using credit cards over other cards, says Finance Director Jorge Jensen at the NRK Consumer Council. Use of credit cards, for a total of NOK 336 billion. The International Monetary Fund, the World Bank and Norges Bank have pointed out that the debt in Norwegian households is too high, Jensen told the NRK.

He thinks that a ban could be in place if it was short. The government is currently working on a new finance law that should be handled by the Storting during the year.
