The story is signed by Arild Midthun, who is also up to date with his first sales show.

– I lived in Oslo for ten years and I always enjoyed myself. This story is a return to a city that I find great, says Bergenser and Donald Drawer Arild Midthun. In recent years, he lived in Son, but for ten years, Oslo was his home. And that's what the new story looks like.

The story is on display in Donald's magazine, which will be on sale next week. The starting point of the story is that Ole, Dole and Doffen will attend the Norwegian Cup. So Donald and the boys go to Oslo in the classic car 313. During the trip, Donald puts the capital on the head: in Ekebergsletta, he is able to sabotage a football match, he fails the car on the roof of the house. Opera and ended up stealing one of the animal shelters at the Viking Ship

Personal History

For the Midthun, Donald Donald's story is a personal starting point

– In 1980, when I finished in high school, I was in Oslo at Norwaycup. I was very happy with Oslo and Ekeberg and also brought a folder with drawings. I showed them to Terje Nordberg, who was already an experienced scriptwriter and editor. I had read to Seriefokus that they were calling Norwegian cartoonists, so I took it to the ground and I faced each other. That's how it started, so it was very amusing to tell the story of Donald and the boys, "says Midthun

– it's still very nice to have it. To have a personal angle when I make these fabulous stories of ends that behave like

Donald on the Opera

Midthun also made another personal twist.

– In the sequence Where Donald Fails at the Opera, I signed with my ex-wife, Hege Høysæter, who is an opera singer and works at the Opera. It is she who hunts Donald of the opera. Looks like she's very funny, Midrer Midnight

The cartoonist has done extensive research in history.

– It was funny that I could also use a lot of research that I did when I did a biography on Ivar Aasen in the mid-90s. Then I could draw a lot of Hansketorvet and Old Christiania Square

At Shiphouse Viking Midthun was taken with open arms – although it allows Donald to steal the museum.

– They were incredibly kind to me and released me and let me take sketches. It's great fun when everything from bosses to ticket controllers, installs and thinks it's fun, says Midthun

Saved by the royal couple

Midthun's also relevant to another Norwegian story of Donald – and this even has a rojal twist.

– It's a Donald pocket that goes out in August, where King Harald and Queen Sonja save Donald from drowning at Saltstraumen, he says.

And more Norwegian stories will be. The Christmas booklet added action to Svalbard and has a clear environmental profile. What exactly does Santa's workshop do when Svalbard has rains and degrees in the middle of winter? We will know more about this in December

Midthun has been drawing Donald since 2004. Over the past 14 years, work has become more and more fun.

– It's always fun. In fact, it's almost fun now, because I feel completely safe in Andeby, both in form and content. Now I can tell the stories I want, says Midthun.

Previously, the stories that were included he wrote were written by people like Knut Nærum and Tormod Løkling. This time, he himself designed most of the story.

– The idea was mine and I did a synopsis, as the authors wrote a screenplay, and as I changed a lot, he laughed.

Midthun Donald – Stories are under pressure in Donald magazines around the world. There they have a loyal fan. In particular, stories with a Norwegian twist are popular.

– When you create stories with local episodes, it is perceived as exotic elsewhere in the world. Among other things, stories are popular in Brazil. Once, Knut Nærum and I met a Brazilian doctor who had read our stories in Portuguese in Brazil. Our stories are often appreciated because they are considered exotic, while emphasizing that they are more in depth in research and history.

Exhibition

As Donald's new story comes out, Midthun will also exhibit with original drawings. He opens at the Summer Gallery of Asker Art Society in Vollen on July 14th.
