The British series Downton Abbey following the rule and the servants of a castle in England, has now got a green signal. The film is underway, and the recording starts in September, reports Variety branch magazine.
It is already clear that many of the regular actors in the series, such as Michelle Dockery, Maggie Smith and Hugh Bonneville, will play in the film.
The popular series lasted six seasons, following the lives of the Crawley family and their servants.
– When the series was over, it was our dream to make a movie for the fans. After a lot and pretty much, we are now ready for production. Julian Fellowes's screenplay is charming, exciting and entertaining. In director Brian Percival, we found one that we think could bring Downton to the film studio, "says producer Gareth Neame.

The critics are seduced
The popular series has received a number of awards including Golden Globe, a total of 15 Emmy Awards and a BAFTA. With 69 nominations, it is the most nominated non-American series in the history of Emmy.
Even Aftenposten's television critics were seduced by the life of the British upper class. The action, which began before the First World War, ends in the last season of 1927.
