– For 20 years I have lived with someone else 's equipment, now I want to record mine

This may surprise, but the artist Cliff Isaksen has never published anything earlier. He often has concerts in several places in downtown Tromsø, and has participated in "Idol" and "The Great Cross". On Friday of this week, his first single "Chill", written one day in the summer in Hamna, is out.

– It was in 2013. We had just moved to Hamna and when the sun shines here it's fine but also wildly hot. When I went for a break, I thought about spending time writing a song. And so it has become. A Carefree Song About Rest

Profit Project

As a full-time musician, it was not easy to revive all the songs that he himself wrote [19659002] – It's a for-profit project with many years, without really doing anything about it. Between my playing life and my young child card, I recently had the time to write some songs. Now I have reached a point where I want to start giving them. For 20 years, I have lived with someone else 's material, now I want to record mine.

Because in addition to the prioritization, he was also of his own self-criticism

– I wrote a lot of songs but nine out of ten just in the trash. Then I decided to reduce the requirements for myself. Now, I have gained greater faith in myself and in the material than I write. I also have a home studio, so to take a break at first glance, I try it first to find out if it works or if it is still born.

A with Wesseltoft

Isaksen decided to write and sing in the north of Norway

– this is simply because it is easier to express nuances in the language you speak every day. When I started writing a few years ago, there were not many artists who wrote in Northern Norway, but now there are many others. For example, Sondre Justad

The album is produced by Jon Marius Aareskjold and he has his regular musician Trond Helge Nordli on drums and himself Bugge Wesseltoft.

– How did you Wesseltoft with you in the team?

– I knew him several years ago and he told me that I could contact him if I needed help with my own business. Since he was so angry, I spoke up and he said yes with pleasure. I sent him several songs and he chose "Chill".

Warm up for Kari

Friday, August 3, Isaksen warms up for Kari Bremnes at the Querinifest on Røst, which he comes to

– During the opening of this year's TIFF I played with the Røst choir as part of the premiere of "Per Fugelli – Last Prescription". Then I was talking about warming up for Kari and it was like that. Then, I will play my own material which, I think, goes a little better in such a context than the "pack party" of covers that I usually play.

And in the fall. It's maybe more …

– It's a little scary to say, but we have a plan to release the next single in September

– East it's a bit more melancholy since it's

– No, the West German fool does not have me, says Isaksen.
