– We have staff from at least five fire stations, the Civil Defense, Kjeller Defense Airplane Service and the Red Cross in the area. In addition, three wildfire helicopters are in operation, "said deputy head of Central East of Espen Stabell in Aftenposten.

He reports that there are fires stretched along the train line from Åneby to Nittedal in Sandermosen in the Maridalen, on several forest fires along the railway line.

Firefighters received information about the fire just after 8:00 pm Sunday night. Work stoppage is underway, but firefighters have not controlled the fire.

– It's a little disturbed for the moment. It burns at least 13-14 different points up, says Stabell.

May have been started by freight trains

They do not have an overall view of the size of the area that burns, but it burns on both sides of the train line.

– There are very likely sparks from a freight train that has ignited punctually over the entire railway line, Stabell explains.

It is extremely dry in the area and the fire can still spread.

– Most likely, we have to stay overnight, Stabell says.

According to firefighters, there is no need to evacuate housing in the area.

Delays and Adjustments

– We have been advised that there is a full fire. It burns along much of the stretch, "says Mediaevision in Bane Nor Hilde Marie Braaten.

The railway line is closed between Roa and Oslo S while work is underway.

– Bane Nor has a boat in the area, and a boat is on the way to the year, says Braaten

NSB reports on its website that passengers on the road must wait delays and adjustments.

They are currently working on alternative transportation in the form of taxi and bus, Aftenposten informs.

Brant at Maridalen Saturday

Saturday night, there were delays on the same road due to forest fires. Then the fire department took control of the fire after half an hour, and the train traffic was back to normal from 10:30 pm.

The current fire is not in the same place as Saturday, according to firefighters.
