Weight of the trailer: 1605 kg [19659022] Opel Insignia could be a perfect Norwegian car, but it has a problem with the tax calculator.
Last year, Opel created a new edition of Insignia, without creating headlines. Available in sedan or wagon, without hybrid variant, it rolls into segments that do not navigate in the tailwind. If you have a problem in the sale, it's the SUV and still the SUV that counts. Or, of course, an electric car, virtually any body of the power line.
But without too much trouble, it is actually Insignia who is the best seller of the brand so far this year. In front of the Ampera-e electric car and the new Crossland X and Grandland X SUVs. It is now said that the first would be the largest if the importer had received more than a fraction of the cars requested by the market.
Some volumes of insignia do not count, but there is apparently a hundred Norwegians who discovered that Insignia in a lot of space and a lot of equipment for a decent sum.
SUV Details
And now it is a version that would have really worked well in the Norwegians career. The Insignia Country Tourer is an easy-to-check version with a touch of offroad details; a car type like Audi with its Allroad and Volvo models with Cross Country has been very successful in Norway.
These are cars that include SUV-like things like an extra ground clearance, in the case of Opel two centimeters more than breaks, and a plastic guard along the wheel bars and the lower part of the car. At the same time, these wagons retain many benefits such as a lower center of gravity than an SUV and generally more attractive lines.
The Insignia Country Tourer essentially offers the complete list of Opel equipment, as well as the undercarriage and the four-wheel drive. In other words, a full-fledged car, with a level of high-end equipment, but not quite the same level of interior design. Compared to Volvo and Mercedes-Benz, it becomes old-fashioned.
"What, then?" We could think. This is an Opel.
The Price
The problem is that the Insignia Country Tourer costs roughly the same price as a corresponding V90 Cross Country and is not significantly less expensive than a Mercedes-Benz E-Class all-terrain. Now it is said that the two mentioned cars soon become much more expensive with accessories, but the Insignia Country Tourer starts at $ 715,000. There is a lot of money. Much of the reason is an engine that receives the denomination of the Norwegian tax system. He adds a government bill of about 100,000 more than the Swedish and German car.
True, it offers 210 horsepower, but it will be expensive forces in Norway. Consumption, and therefore emissions, are considerably higher than those found by competitors.
At the same time, this car has a possible ace in the round: The engine is prepared for the WLTP cycle, which is included in the calculation of the New Year's tax. So it is quite possible that the model gets a more favorable outcome compared to several competitors, who will get a lot more emissions when the more real test will be used as the basis for the emission figures.
Best Insignia
know that the car is in the middle of the flash, despite a somewhat cool price tag, you get a very comfortable vehicle. The engine is perceived as well suited to a car like this. A powerful couple triggers early, and zero to one hundred takes 8.2 seconds. It is more than enough for a family car, and offers very nice long-term features, even with a common holiday charge.
This is a big car more than five meters long, and the landing gear, with adjustable air dampers, provides the best model of any kind. Insignia we drove. The long wheelbase provides good stability and the car absorbs irregularities without spreading into the body.
As the automotive climate is today, the Insignia Country Tourer has no chance of reaching a wide audience. The combination of price, brand, diesel fuel line and interior design makes it a particularly interesting car, although it is the best model of Insignia
