Harvard researchers claim that "Oumuamua", the mysterious space object observed in 2017, could be the first evidence of extraterrestrial technology in our solar system.

Today, researchers at the prestigious Boston Harvard University in the United States have stated that Oumuamua was an extraterrestrial space probe. They write in "The Astrophysical Journal Letters", which will be published on November 12.
In an email to VG, Avi Loeb, a space science researcher at Harvard University in the United States, explains that "Oumuamua" should be classified as an interstellart object with many unknown characteristics.
Tell us
"Oumuamua" was discovered in September 2017 and had a high speed and an unusual trajectory, but no known signs of asteroids or comets previously observed. He disappeared shortly.
"We have never seen these qualities before, and after solar reflections we can see that this object is flatter than any other asteroid or comet we have ever seen in our solar system," writes Loeb in the e-mail.
Millimeter of thickness
"We think that the special acceleration of" Oumuamua "is caused by that pushed not by heating, but by solar radiation. In order for sunlight to cause the observed acceleration, "Oumuamua" must have a thickness of less than one millimeter, but at the same time several tens of meters long and wide, "writes Loeb.
"Oumuamua" means in Hawaiian "a messenger from a distant place that comes first", according to Astro Events.
"We do not know if" Oumuamua "is an asteroid or a common comet, because we do not have the photo, but our article and our calculation show that such a thin object can survive all along the Milky Way without be destroyed or damaged by atoms or dust particles on the road. "Loeb writes.

"If the answer is yes, what is the origin of" Oumuamua "? A possibility is that the object was a kind lysseil who entered our solar system. The Spitzer telescope did not detect heat emissions from "Oumuamua", indicating that the surface is cold and highly reflective. It may be that "Oumuamua" is only the remains of a single technical device, or that it no longer works. Investigations on "Oumuamua" radio signals have only captured less than one-tenth of the emissions from an ordinary cell phone, "writes Loeb.
More everyday explanations
Loeb and co-investigator Shmuel Bialy also admit that their screenplay is "exotic," writes NBC.
And not everyone is convinced that our solar system has been visited by extraterrestrial technology. Coryn Bailer-Jones is an astronomer at the Max Planck Institute of Astronomy in Heidelberg, Germany, and believes that we must ask crucial questions when such events occur.
"In the world of science, we must ask ourselves" where are the proofs "and not" where is the lack of evidence that I can adapt them to my hypothesis ".

Frightening Theory: Therefore, we have not discovered any aliens
– You do not have to blindly accept such an assumption when it's a more common explanation – it's a comet or asteroid in the distance, says Seth Shostak of the SETI Institute in California.
Loeb does not want to listen and quote Sherlock Holmes:
"Once impossible, we must leave it, as unlikely as it is.
It is nevertheless difficult to know what was "Oumuamua". Because he has already left the solar system, researchers can not see "Oumuamua" with telescopes.
Whatever it is, says Loeb, the fact that we have now seen an interstellar object such as "Oumuamua" may indicate that there is more. Therefore, astronomers should start looking for them, "says Loeb.
