A youth shelter in Bærum paid $ 9,500 to a drug dealer on behalf of a resident who feared the consequences of the debt.

The resident of Jong Youth Home feared the seller's unwanted reactions and said the situation was unmanageable, writes Dagbladet.

On February 23, an employee of the youth center gave an envelope containing the money to the seller. On April 16, an employee of the house received an anonymous notice of the case. Leader Line Andersen of the youth hostel does not dispute the course of the events described in the opinion, but says that thorough assessments were made before the institution chose to pay the debt.

Also in 2013, Jong Youth Hostel was informed about the payment of drugs. The Department of Children, Youth and Family (Bufdir) reacts to the practice.

– The state will not pay for drug trafficking. Bufdir knows that one school lent money to a young person for the repayment of rusgjeld this winter and that this was also done seven years ago in the same school, said Kjetil A. Ostling, Deputy Director of Services in Bufdir.

Ostling adds that management has made it clear to the Bufetat institutions that the Bufetat institutions would not pay the drug costs on behalf of the young people.
