– We receive messages from all over Northern Norway about many animals along the roads. There are sheep and reindeer entering the tunnels because of the heat, says the director of the road and transport department of the Norwegian Public Roads Administration, Tore Lysberg.

Since 10 July, 44 riots of reindeer and sheep have been recorded, according to Chief Inger Anita Øvregård in the reindeer police.
Beiteryra retreats to the sea and in areas where traffic is often frequent, especially in July and August. And most importantly, people must be vigilant when driving in tunnels, says Lysberg
– The animals lie down and place themselves against the ramps. It is especially at the opening of the tunnels that one must be aware. If you encounter animals that have been in such places, it may be good to stop and put emergency lights
to alert others, he said.
