Wellesley Petroleum AS, operator for production license 925, completes the drilling of the 35 / 12-6 S and 35 / 12-6 A exploration wells in the North Sea.
The wells were drilled about 5 kilometers southeast of the oil found 35 / 9-7 (Nova) and 80 kilometers west of Florø
The purpose of the well 35 / 12-6 S was to detect oil in the Upper Jurassic reservoir rocks), and investigate the presence and quality of rock reservoir species. The purpose of the 35 / 12-6 A well was to refine the discoveries.
Well 35 / 12-6 S encountered a total oil column of about 40 meters in the Fensfjord formation. About 5 meters were an efficient reservoir consisting of layers of sandstone with a moderate reservoir quality. The oil-water contact was not encountered
. Well 35 / 12-6 A encountered about 5 meters of moderate grade aquifer sandstone in the Fensfjord Formation. The well is classified as dry.
Preliminary calculations of the size of the discovery are between 0.5 and 1.3 million standard cubic meters (Sm 3 ). Drilling wells will not be formatted, but extensive data collection and sampling has been done
. These are the first two exploration wells drilled in production license 925. The license was granted in APA 2017.
Wells 35 / 12-6 S and 35 / 12-6 A were drilled at a vertical depth of 3187 and 2969 meters respectively, and measured in depth at 3370 and 3263 meters below sea level. 35 / 12-6 S was completed in the Rannoch Formation in the Middle Jurassic, while 35 / 12- 6 Has ended in Heather's formation in the Upper Jurassic. The depth of the sea is 355 meters. Wells were definitely plugged and abandoned
The wells were drilled by the Transocean Artic Drilling Rig, which is currently drilling 35 / 12-7 in the 925 production license.
