Mahad Mahamud lost the appeal of Norwegian nationality

When Mahad Mahamud arrived in Norway in 2000, he said he was 14 years old and a Somali citizen. He obtained temporary residence and in 2008 he was granted Norwegian citizenship. He graduated as an organic engineer and got a job at Ullevål Hospital.

In 2013, the Immigration Commission (UNE) was informed that he had led the Norwegian authorities behind the fire.

He then went to court to change the decision, but the Oslo District Court found that Mahmud's birth certificate in Somalia was falsified that he was probably between 18 and 20 years old when he was not married. He arrived in Norway and he and his family are from Djibouti.

This verdict is now confirmed by the Borgarting Court of Appeal.

"Not trustworthy"

The Court of Appeals, like the Oslo District Court, considers that "Mahamud, against his informed knowledge, has provided false information about his origins and identity, including his nationality. , and that this has had a significant impact on the granting of Norwegian nationality ".

The changes, contradictions and credibility gaps in the explanations indicated that the reliability of the information was weak. The expulsion is not disproportionate, especially since the stay in this country was based on an erroneous fact, the judgment concludes.
