Microsoft launches Surface Go: – Here is the Cheap Surface of Microsoft

[ad_1]

Where Apple has iPad, Microsoft has its surface. This is a tablet, and Dinside has tested a variety of Surface versions earlier. However, common to all, the prices have always been well above what you have to pay for a standard iPad, but with Surface Go – the latest addition to the family, the differences are not so great anymore.

PC Tablet

Surface Go has a 10-inch screen, weighs 512 grams and is 8.3 millimeters thick. In comparison, the display of the iPad is 9.7 inches, the weight is 469 grams and the thickness is 7.5 millimeters. However, unlike the iPad, Surface Go works with a PC operating system (Windows 10), has more connectivity, and with the mouse and keyboard, it works as a PC.

We hasten to add that the card on delivery runs Windows 10 in so-called S mode. This means that you can only run Microsoft Office as well as authenticated applications from the Microsoft Store.

These applications are much safer to use than traditional Windows applications, according to Microsoft. However, if you have several older programs and solutions that you want to run, you can easily switch to the full functionality of Windows 10, but you will not be able to return to S mode later.

Flexible Display

The screen has a resolution of 1800 x 1200 pixels, and can record up to ten different keys at the same time. It also supports Surface Pen for improvements and notes on the screen.

On the back, it features a flexible bracket that allows the board to be tilted freely on a flat surface. 19659011] ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT: Keyboard cover, mouse and pen are devices that make Surface Go a very portable PC. For connections, it has a USB-C port, 3.5mm headphone jack, 1 Surface Connect port (allows you to connect the docks and further to external monitors, keyboard, mouse, etc. .), microSD card reader, as well as the connector for connecting the keyboard cover. The dock and the keyboard cover (Type Cover) are also optional.

Fanless Design

Inside, an Intel Pentium Gold 4415Y processor. This is based on the 7th generation of the Core i family, and requires no fan. Unlike some old Surface cards, Surface Go is completely silent. Performance is clearly at the bottom of the scale, but should work well for easy tasks, including streaming video, music, navigation, social media, and light office work.

4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage space (eMMC flash memory). A more expensive version of a 128GB SSD at full capacity is also sold at a higher price.

The life of the battery should last about 9 hours, according to Microsoft

Coming in August

Surface GB can already be pre-ordered, the price starts at $ 4,499, which is about a thousand times higher than what you have to pay for a standard iPad, but the latter has just half the amount of storage. Delivery will take place in August. A 4G support version is expected later.

Dinside comes back with our impressions as soon as we get the card for testing.
