Climbing the fight against Slack.

Microsoft announces this week a free version of the team cooperation team. Until now, companies have to pay for Teams, but with a free edition, Microsoft can position itself as a major competitor of the current Slack.

Less Limitations

The Collaborative Tool is not locked to Office 365 subscribers, anyone can take it into use. Included in the free edition is the unlimited use of chat (text, voice and video) and search, but it is limited to 300 people. There is no limit to the number of applications you can install.

A guest server is also in place so that everyone can join a free team group. The storage limit per team is 10 GB, but each member has 2 GB each.

By comparison, the free edition of Slack is limited to 10,000 searchable messages, 5 GB of storage and a 10-page limit. In addition, there is no support for guest accounts and only two people can record videos.

The free edition of Microsoft Teams is now available in 40 different languages, including Norwegian.
