There are many good reasons to get rid of fuel and existing tank. "Only in Oslo, there are more than 7,500 oil-fired power plants, which together emit 120,000 tonnes of CO2 a year. This corresponds to 11% of all greenhouse gas emissions in the municipality. So it is good for Oslo to introduce a national ban on oil heating by 2020, says Heidi Sørensen.
In addition, saving money from fossil heating to renewable heating can be saved. The buried oil tank can also be a ticking environmental bomb because it can start to leak and pollute the environment. If the accident occurs, it can be catastrophic for the environment and the wallet.

Houses can receive 50,000

If you live in a detached house or a townhouse, you can ask Enova for help to become oil free. This year you can get up to $ 50,000 depending on the heating solution used.
