People help extinguish Gjøvikbanen

The fire department worked several places Sunday night to put out fires. At Nittedal, they were helped by several residents, writes NRK

– Many residents from Rotnes to Nittedal met, about 50, says Christine Rehn Jensen, who is on site. Here, people fill water booths and make connections with them, because the fire trucks do not get close enough.

Ivar Myrbø, an internal leader, tells Romerike Leaf that he is completely overwhelmed by the stress.

– The efforts of the locals have been phenomenal. In one place, the firefighter connected the snake and gave it to civilians before moving on to the next place, he said.

The fire stops traffic

Still in the lower Romerike, the fire department is working on an explosion. They are helped by the civil defense and the Red Cross. At the same time in Oslo, firefighters say that they have a good overview of the fires, but not yet fully controlled. but according to Myrbø, there is so much control that they release resources sent north to Nittedal.

Bane Nor said on Twitter Sunday night that the runway is closed while work is underway at several locations along the lines. The company did not know how long this work would take or when the route could be reopened.

Two firefighter helicopters and a police helicopter also went out. The lights are both large and small, and some close to residential buildings. Residents along the trail have been invited to stay indoors, but until now, there has been no evacuation required.

On Saturday, the same route was closed due to a forest fire. Then he burned at Sandermosen in the Maridalen. Sunday morning, a fire led along the track, a little further north, between Hakadal and Roa.

Due to planned work in the Lieråsen Tunnel, there are currently more trains than usual on Gjøvikbanen, including between Oslo and Bergen.
