Porsche recovered the disc "at home"

Porsche took the Lamborghini record around the Nürburgring. And Mercedes has also set a new record there. Watch the video

A fierce race is underway to get the fastest car around the Nürburgring Nordschleife, and the records are falling like flies. In recent weeks, two new records have been recorded on the world's toughest race track.

The best result is, of course, the 20.6 kilometer section record (the Nürburgring has more configurations), regardless of the type of vehicle. This record belonged to a Rothman 956C Porsche for 35 years and was considered unbeatable, as there are now restrictions on the number of cars allowed on the track, which is actually a highway.

Porsche, however, retired from the long-distance World Cup before the season's 919 Hybrid Evo and managed to erase the Formula 1 records at the Spa course earlier this year. Sebastian Vettel in the Formula 1 Ferrari however regained the upper hand a few months later, but the 919 Hybrid Evo is almost as fast as an F1 car. So fast.

Porsche also tested this car around Nordschleife, then for a distance of 20.8 km. She broke the Rothmans Porsche 956 C and was incredibly framed in 5: 19.55 minutes, 51 seconds faster than the previous record and with average speed around "green hell" at 233.8 km / h unreal.

The next record, and perhaps the most important, is the series produced for the series. This is the record of cars that can be bought and driven on ordinary roads. And then we talk about the course of 20.6 kilometers,

In 2005, the Radical SR8 became the first production car to be pressed for 7 minutes at 6:55, and the same producer lowered its own record at 6:48 with a Radical SR8 LM in 2009.

But last year, Porsche responded and a Porsche 911 GT2 RS clocked a round of 6: 47.25 minutes and became the fastest car on the circuit.

This would have nothing to do with Lamborghini, so in July of this year, they created a "simple" name Lamborghini Aventador LP 770-4 Superveloce Jota. He came in and was dialed at 6: 44.97 and a new record.

Porsche and leader Lars Kern were a little excited by the fact that the record for the German course ended in Italian hands. So they took the course with a Porsche GT2 RS MR on the trailer.

– We checked the weather all day and thought that with such conditions it would be impossible. And we would never risk that if the rain or the ground was just a little wet, "said Frank-Steffen Walliser, head of German motorsport and passenger cars.

The car was equipped with new racing parts from Manthey-Racing, and the car was designed to adapt to the demands of the Nürburgring-Norschleife.

But they are not all-in, but it does not matter. With time 6: 40.3, they deleted the Lambos record with a good margin.

"It was a very fun day," said Kern.

"The balance in the car was very good with the new package, but I took no chance to be fast and save. And when it started getting dark, I only had a chance, but it continued.

Here is the record tour:

There are a number of variants of the 911, but the most powerful and the fastest is the GT2 RS variant. The news came last year, has 700 horsepower, a torque of 750 Nm, weighs 1,470 kilos and does 0-100 km / h in 2.8 seconds. Peak speed? 340 km / h.

German rivals Mercedes, Mercedes, are also stuck in Nordschleife last week. They took away the awesome Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S 4Matic + and searched for the record for the four-seater cars produced in series.

With 639 horsepower under the hood and shredded with the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup2, it was just throwing it away and it came into play.

It was timed at 7: 25.41 and is now the fastest 4-seater Mercedes produced around Nordschleife.

Here is the impressive tour:

Finally, it should be noted that not all car manufacturers are testing their cars around Nordschleife. Koenigsegg has, despite encouraging enthusiasm and a failed attempt a year ago, with a previous model, still not broadcast what is actually the fastest car in the world.

We are talking about Agera RS, the car that has set five world records. Learn more about the records in one of the links below.

No flash Bugatti Chiron did not register at any time in Nordschleife.
