The researchers teamed up with seven doctors who worked in the emergency room of a large Pennsylvania hospital. Some days, doctors cheat tattoos and deceptions by working without piercing the body the other days.

In this way, Cohen and Co were able to check the results for the same doctor, with and without tattoos.
Many have tattoos
There was no difference. The patients seemed to have such a good impression of the doctor, regardless of the presence of body art.

In 2016, 40% of Americans between the ages of 26 and 40 had at least one tattoo, the researchers wrote. Then the likelihood of showing tattoos will increase by doctors and other health workers.

Just a small study

Another problem is that doctors unconsciously behaved differently with and without tattoos.
And so clearly: The tattoos and piercings of the study were relatively subtle. Thus, the research says little about how patients would like a doctor with his face full of pendants or arms covered with devils and doves.
