From night to Sunday, police in Oslo experienced a relatively more violent night than usual. Due to more fighting and violence against the police, they went out and warned of the atmosphere of the center of Oslo.

"There are still a lot of young people in Oslo S / Storgata, and there is almost no atmosphere in the whole region, and a lot of them are quite difficult young people who are are unfinished, warned the head of operations of the police district of Oslo, Gjermund Stokkli, around 2:30 at night.

He then stated that they were patrolling with more units in the central area to prevent adverse events and to ensure that people behave properly.

Nevertheless, new fights broke out later in the night.

Fight Storgata

Two events of the night are particularly serious:

From 1 pm to Sunday, police announced that more people were involved in a fight in Storgata, in central Oslo.

– When we arrived, the battle did not stop. Instead, they ended up fighting the police, "says Gjermund Stokkli, head of operations at the Oslo Police District in Dagbladet.

He says the police are gone in place with many patrols as a result of the struggle intensifying. Stokkli also said that a police dog had been kicked in connection with the incident.

"We were almost in the mood for a while, and there were a lot of young people out there who did not listen to the police, but we finally managed to control people.

Five inserted

Four youths were arrested for disorder and violence against public officials, while one person was arrested for killing the police dog, which also constitutes violence at the police station. against public officials, according to Stokkli.

– What do you think they do not stop the fight when the police arrive on the scene?

"We take it very seriously, they fight against something, but when we come, people have to comply with police orders.

"It only ends with the fact that we have to arrest people and that it is degrading and that it is not pleasant. We must spend a lot of resources to get control and calm the troops," concludes Stokkli.

There were 100 people in the area. Not everyone is hostile – says Stokkli – but there are a lot of people, so it can be demanding.

Fight in Oslo Spektrum

The second event that stands out was held at Stenersgata in Oslo Spektrum in the night of 4 hours.

Stokkli said that a patrol had witnessed a fight between four and five people. While they were going to the people in question, other people arrived and attacked the police.

"The perpetrators were very outgoing and those on site were unable to control them, so the patrol had to ask for help and we sent several units there.

"It ends with the fact that we have to add more people to iron and that the other people involved in the incident have been expelled from the center, they are rather aggressive towards the police, which is not good, says Stokkli.

Two people were arrested for committing acts of violence against public officials related to the incident.

– More violent than normal

Stokkel feels that there has been a more violent night than usual.

"There are a few battles this Sunday in Oslo, but they are fewer and do not last that long, and they are of an unusual nature:

"There have been a lot of people involved in the fighting, they do not care about the arrival of the police and they attack the police.

Stokkli does not think it's a single gang that has been involved in more than one fight. He has the impression that there have been many young people who have been rushed or drunk and that the threshold for resorting to violence for this reason has been lowered.

"There are several disturbances in the night from Sunday to Sunday, but it is unusual for so many people to attack the police." It's a development we do not like, he says.

In addition to the above-mentioned events, the police could also report fighting in Hegdehaugsveien, Stortingsgata and Rosenborggata.

In Hegdehaugsveien, the people involved had to oppose the police, while in Stortingsgata, a fight between several people led the police to call for additional reinforcements.

In Rosenborggata, this has ended more seriously. Stokkli said that there were four people involved in the strike, but that the police quickly took control.

– One person was arrested and two people were treated on the spot by the ambulance staff.
