The piano festival is ranked 3rd on the top 10 lists of music festivals in Europe by Pianist Magazines. The magazine is one of the largest and most recognized classical music magazines with readers around the world.
– It's incredibly awesome, says general manager Knut Kirkesæther and it's unthinkable to be ranked in front of the world's largest piano festival, La Roque.
In summer, there are pianists like Leif Ove Andsnes, Yulianna Avdeeva, Francesco Piemontesi, Ah Ruem Ahn and Lise de la Salle. Soprano Eir Inderhaug, Oslo Camerata and the Engegård Quartet are also on the list of artists.
14 concerts in Lofoten
The Lofoten Piano Festival is the result of the Lofoten International Chamber Music Festival, organized for the first time in 2004. In Lofoten, the summer festival alternates between festival piano and chamber music festival.
The opening concert will take place on Monday, July 9th in Lofoten Kulturhus. During the festival, there will be a total of 14 concerts, including the last concert at Buksnes Church on July 15th.
