Air pollution is the cause of every seventh case of diabetes, shows new US research
Even small amounts of air pollution increase the risk of diabetes, say researchers at the Faculty of Medicine from the University of Washington. 14% of all new cases of diabetes in the world in 2016, a total of 3.2 million cases.

Researchers build their findings on health studies of 1.7 million former US soldiers who had no diabetes and were followed for more than eight years.
