Astronomers have discovered twelve new moons around the largest planet in the solar system, Jupiter. This brings the total up to 79 months by small and large.

A team of astronomers chased objects into the outer edge of the solar system as they discovered the new creaking moons. Ten were confirmed on Tuesday, while two were posted earlier.

Researchers say that these monsters were not discovered earlier because they are so small. The largest is no more than 3.2 kilometers in diameter. The most advanced telescopes in Chile, Hawaii and Arizona were used during the discovery.

The planet Jupiter is the fifth planet of the sun. Its mass is only a promille of the sun, but it has two and a half times the mass of all the other planets in the solar system together.
