(Broom) The number of electric cars on the market will increase sharply over the next two to three years. The Volkswagen Group, which operates all brands of electric cars, is among those who are most interested in it.
This also applies to Porsche. Their first electric car comes on the market by the end of 2019. Taycan is called the model and is a very sporty sedan.
Now, Porsche confirms that they also have an electric car. The concept car Mission E Cross Turismo was one of the highlights of the Geneva Motor Show in March this year and has just announced the launch of a production edition.
All-wheel drive and a lot of space
– This Porsche model is created for Norway. A fully elected four-wheel sport sports, sporty design and space for active lifestyle equipment is the dream car of many of us, says Morten Scheel, CEO of Porsche Norway.
The major interest for electric cars in Norway opened the possibility for several brands to pay down payments and book cars. He also made Porsche for Taycan. Norway was the first in the world.
More than 2,400 clients have now deposited a $ 20,000 deposit.
Hot and cold tests
"The Norwegian solution that we launched before the summer only applies to Taycan, as there will be a big gap between the two different models that will come into production, it will take some time before to be able to open a reservation for Mission E Cross Turismo, "said Scheel in a press release.
Porsche is currently running a comprehensive test program for its first electric car. Sixty developers from the factory are on tour with 21 camouflage prototypes in South Africa, where they studied how the car tackles extreme heat.
Cold tests are also on the program. It is probably not unthinkable to see Taycan in our latitudes, for the winter.
Become a very important car
The concept car is equipped with two engines, one on each shaft, which together produce 600 hp. 0-100 km / h is served in less than 3.5 seconds and the range is 500 kilometers.
Basically, this number is measured according to the outgoing NEDC standard. It's "nicer" than WLTP as it currently applies. This means that the official range of Taycan can be lower when the car arrives on the market. But in this case, we do not exclude any technical modification of the car. Development is moving fast in a number of areas. Therefore, it is also important to adjust and adjust the process as much as possible before "locking" the final result.
Porsche itself suggests a production capacity of 20,000 cars a year. That's 2/3 of what they currently do from the iconic 911. In other words, Taycan becomes an important car for the brand.
