The 51 year old Irish artist writes on a new Twitter account that she is now calling Shuhada & Davitt and that she is proud to be Muslim.

Several media, among others CNN, writes that the Irish singer has converted to Islam. Sinead O 'Connor is perhaps best known for the song "Nothing Compares 2 U" and his version of the hit "Do not Cry for Me in Argentina".
On the unverified Twitter account @ MagdaDavitt77, which would belong to the artist, other posts were published on the new religion, as well as images of his hijab.

The first message regarding the conversion was posted on October 19th. The singer would have written that she had changed her name to become Shuhada. Last year she changed her name – from Sinead O'Connor to Magda Davitt, a name she should have taken to get rid of "parental offenses".
On Thursday, a new message on Twitter came to her that she was grateful for all the support she had received from the Muslim community.
