Springsteen takes Broadway to Netflix!

Since last October, Bruce Springsteen has presented a unique show concept on the legendary Broadway, New York

. Walter Kerr Theater, in the heart of Broadway, The Boss has five nights of the week showcasing the highlights of his long musical career, all spiced with fascinating, touching, fun and sad anecdotes of his unique life and history American contemporary. The red thread is his memoir of the book "Born to Run."

Sound & Picture was fortunate to attend this unique show, "Springsteen on Broadway" in December last year, our review can be read right here. A show like night after night consists of exactly the same 15 songs (quite unusual in the context of Springsteen), and as the boss has repeatedly extended the shelf life. Originally, there would be only 40 shows, when Springsteen will finish Broadway's career (Dec. 15), he will have played 236 (!) Shows.

With the show " Springsteen on Broadway" Bruce Springsteen (68) plays on one of the smaller scenes that he has played for the past 40 years. The star of Megarock, best known for its legendary marathon concerts, with an audience of 30 to 80,000 spectators, chose to go in the opposite direction. The Walter Kerr Theater in New York has only 960 seats, and the manager makes a complete show of 236 (!) During the period of October 3, 2017-15. December 2018.

A show that was virtually impossible to get tickets, and where the prices on the black market were from 20,000 to hundreds of thousands.

Due to the very limited supply and the very high demand, we predicted that when the first 40 issues were announced, "Springsteen on Broaway" would be a day started on Blu-ray

BUT, using our dear friends at Netflix (and certainly helped Springsteen's friendship with Ted Sarandos, content director of Netflix), will now be the whole show filmed and get the world premiere of Netflix on December 15th.

The press release says Sarandos (as we interviewed him in Rome earlier this year) :
"We are delighted to bring Bruce Springsteen – a master storyteller , humanitarian and voice of everyman – in this historic man show.This revolutionary experience challenges the boundaries of theater, concerts and movies and will give our global audience an intimate look at one of the largest icons of our time. "

Springsteen's director, Jon Landau, added the following:
"The purpose of the film is to bring this incredibly intimate show to the entire Bruce audience intact and complete.In addition to its many other virtues, Netflix has provided a simultaneous global release, which is particularly important for r our massive international audience. Ted Sarandos and the support of the entire company have perfectly matched Bruce's personal commitment in the filmed version of "Springsteen on Broadway".

The Netflix movie will show the show in full length and directed by Springsteen's regular director, Thom Zimny.

On the occasion of the upcoming Netflix movie, and at the end of the show, Lyd & Bilde will cross the dam again to attend "Springsteen on Broadway". Our new criticism will coincide with the premier of Netflix and the end of Broadway shows.
