Telemarksavisa – Serious accident in Kragerø tonight

When the emergency services arrived, they found a person seriously injured and in shock.

– We received messages at 1.24 that a boat had driven in two floats and a sailboat moored at Gunnarsholmen. Police and ambulances went to the scene shortly thereafter and heard shouts from a close person, said operations manager Erik Gunnerød in the Southeast Police District that night [19659003]. The man, who does not reside in Kragerø, was transported to Skien hospital. The police called him seriously injured.

It was a long time uncertain if the man was alone in the boat when he crashed.

Divers and a lifeboat turned on the area to make sure there was more in the boat. At 8:20 pm, Gunnerød says that the search is over and that they are quite certain that it was only him on board.

The director of operations says that the ship's garbage is scattered in the water and that the boat sank in the fjord. Police suspect that the driver has led intoxication and that they have passed the necessary tests.

– As a witness, he was observed earlier in the fjord at high speed and a strong smell was heard when he crashed. to assume that the speed was great.

This is the second consecutive night that the Kragerø police took several boaters to high promille on the sea. From evening to Saturday they arrested a man in the 50s who was measured at about 2 in the crowd.

– Last night we took four people with a promille on the sea, and until now we took two. This is not good, says the director of operations.

There is only a small scratch on the side of the sailboat that was driven into the floating bridge.
