The new generation of Norway believes that they have an extreme ability

On Sunday, Norway enters a crucial group match against Italy. The fact that EM dreams are still alive is incredible.

Once again, the Norwegian team came back from defeat – at the latest when returning against Finland on Thursday.

– This is not the first time. It's incredible, says the team's top scorer Erling Braut Håland

– Why are you so good at coming back?

– It's a good question. There is something special that lives in us. It's cool to be in such a team, says Jærbuen.

Three awesome turnovers

After the victory over Finland, however, several players have agreed on what's this "special". To get to the explanation, let's take a look at the statistics

To access the European Championship, this national team of the G19 had to play two qualifying rounds, with three matches each round . So, they played eight major games in total – where they came back in all three of them, including two improbable dramatic wins.

Tirana, Albania, 10 October 2017: Norway is in danger of breaking out of competition with loss for Albania. And after 12 minutes, Kladji Burba scored for Albania. The answer is money – and Norway finally wins 7-1. The scores are from Håland (2), Eman Markovic (2), Christian Dahle Borchgrevink, Leo Skiri Østigård and Sebastian Pedersen

Ahlen, Germany March 27, 2018: Again, the last match in a qualifying round and again, Norway is likely to expire. Two goals from Håland give Norway a seemingly comfortable management, but Scotland scores four goals. The goals of Jens Petter Hauge, Eman Markovic and Håland save Norway.

Seinäjoki, July 19, 2018: With the defeat, Norway is as good as the championships of Europe. When time passes 89 minutes, Finland leads 2-1. The rescue arrives thanks to late goals of Erik Botheim and Christian Dahle Borchgrevink

– Horrible Captain Types

He has been whispering about this generation for a while now. In the interviews, several players appear with remarkable attitude and self-esteem.

"We have many types of captain," said Christian Dahle Borchgrevink, who has become a winner of the match in overtime in Finland.

Pål Arne "Paco" Johansen was far from satisfied with Finland's performance. However, he recalled what impressed him the most with the team: The ability to cope with adversity.

The trend is not a coincidence. He certainly does not believe the goalkeeper Julian Faye Lund.

– There is a lot of willpower in the team. There are many personalities – strong personalities. There are a lot of championships, says Faye Lund.

Notice something at the end

Finland led 2-1 in the final minutes and apparently had full control over Thursday's match. But substitute Erik Botheim noticed something.

– There is an extreme mentality in this group. People are completely wild in the eyes. I saw it on people. Here we should have a score. You see it in people's eyes – and it's contagious. We are a little crazy in our head, says RBK talent, who scored the goal 2-2

Match-match Christian Dahle Borchgrevink observed something of the same.

– I looked around the other block before the end. We shouted one to the other on the mentality. You see it in your eyes. It sparkles. It is something that characterizes us. We score two goals in the end. This is not the first time it happens. That says something about the madness and the mentality we have.

Experience "Extreme Cohesion"

When we question the players on the history of the return, they do not just remove the skills and the winning game. The HamKam wing Simen Bolkan Nordli insists on "extraordinary advice from the sidelines" and that the team always has a plan when they are at the end.

Bolkan Nordli also believes in social play.

– This is a collective group. We work for each other all the way. We firmly believe that we will do it, "says Bolkan Nordli.

Captain Tord Johnsen Salte agrees. He has already spoken with Aftenbladet about the time he spent at the Lyon Academy. Most thought only about himself, he said. He experiences great contrasts with the G19 National Team

– it's an extremely unified team. In Germany (in qualifying, journ.anm.) We were a gang that went together all the time. The Netherlands, for example, was a gang of gangs, based for example on ethnic groups. It's like that in France when I lived there too. We are a global gang. All are good friends.

However, one wonders up to where the unique unity and mentality can take Norway into the European Championships. They probably need to find in the last group match against Italy to move on.

"We have to get some chicks, but it was an incredibly important win," said Salte after the Finnish match. [ad_2]
