The Viagra study with pregnant women is stopped after baby deaths

More than 180 women participated in the study, conducted by the University Medical Center of Amsterdam in collaboration with ten other Dutch hospitals.

93 women received the potent Viagra drug during pregnancy because they were about fetuses that grew up too late. Another 90 women in the same situation received so-called placebo pills without effect.

Women who received Viagra have now lost 19 babies. Eleven of them are probably dead from a form of hypertension in the lungs, which researchers believe to be due to the drugs received by mothers.
