– Thorvald Stoltenberg died peacefully at home this morning, with his family, after a short period of sick leave, the family told NTB.
Stoltenberg was socially engaged until the end. Saturday, June 30, he had his last column printed on the complete magazine of Dagbladet.

Kåre Willoch tells NRK that Stoltenberg was a valuable person for Norway.
– He was a unique combination of a very competent politician with the power of action and his ability to get in touch with people and contribute to useful results. I enjoyed it.
Hadia Tajik describes Stoltenberg as an "exceptionally tall person" and that there is little of his caliber.
She says that the old politician will miss her deeply, and that spirit is now going to the family.
