Inflation was 25.2% between last October and last October. For the period from September to September this year, inflation was 24.5%.

The price increase was 2.67% from September to October, says TurkStat.

Last week, the central bank raised inflation forecasts to 23.5% by the end of the year.

According to TurkStat, food prices rose 29.26 percent in one year. Last week, the central bank also raised its food price forecast to 29.5 percent by the end of the year, up sharply from the previous forecast of 13 percent.

Inflation reached its highest level in 15 years in June, with 15.39%. Since then, inflation has continued to rise. The country's currency has lost more than 40% value against the dollar since the beginning of the year. This is partly due to a diplomatic swindle and a trade dispute with the United States, as well as investor concern over central bank independence.
