The absence of Kevin Spacey makes the end of the House of Cards season a spin-off.

House of Cards – Season 6
American eight-part drama series
All season available at Netflix November 2
WITH: Robin Wright, Michael Kelly, Lars Mikkelsen, Patricia Clarkson and others.

The case of Kevin Spacey is treated uncompromisingly in Hollywood and surrounding areas, and should be used as an example of a textbook on how to treat sex offenders. First, Ridley Scott recorded all of Spacey's footage in "All the Money in the World". Then the producers also came out of the "House of Cards".

But unlike Scott's replica with Christopher Plummer in the role of senior Getty, the "House of Cards" can not cover Francis Underwood's absence.

How they solved it:

That's to say that they used the cheapest and most obvious trick of the story: Francis Underwood died. Basically, this does not have major consequences on the impending story. The woman, Claire Underwood, had already been elected president. In fact, there are a number of narrators problems, since last season ended with the need for something rather dubious bena. At the same time, several promising and "impossible" sons have developed.

These do not receive the satisfactory answers we expect in the sixth season.

The rewritings close to the recording (Spacey was ejected a month after the start of production), and the need not to waste too much time exceeded the saved capacities. The holes are sometimes so visible that it almost seems like you've erased the lines of Spacey's dialogue in some scenes while keeping the rest.

Robin Wright gives the role of Claire Underwood even more laid than before. She does a very good job in maintaining the fourth wall (although she knows that she is not as loyal to viewers as her late husband.) And pays homage to the first day at Francis's sled.

The five episodes that could be examined are kept by her alone, in a story that tries to understand how the country is attacking female leadership. (Spoiler: Everyone is not so excited).

At the same time, the series explores new dynamics. For example, between Madam Underwood and Doug Stamper. Their tight dialogues are perfectly balanced by terror and wait for one of them to cast the real stone. Both have knowledge that can destroy each other. While the respect of Russian President Petrov and the first woman president of the United States is weird, although not as crazy as our reality.

The collapse of cinema time for Kevin Spacey

Due to outside events, the last season of the House of Cards has been reduced from 13 to 8 episodes. This makes the action obviously clearer. But history as such becomes a sad sadness for a concept that has truly revitalized the way we watch new TV shows nearly six years ago.

Now, he just seems tired.
