For three weeks, the carbonic acid manufacturer Praxair Norway had trouble getting enough CO₂ for the production of carbonic acid. This meant that several Norwegian breweries had to abandon the production of soft drinks and beer.

– I am pleased that this situation has been extraordinary, says Director Petter Nome of the Brewery and Beverage Association of NRK. He does not remember that there have been similar conditions in the past.

The problems began in mid-June when Yara's ammonia plant made an unexpected stop. In addition, several important suppliers in Europe have had problems.

A delivery of liquid carbonate came by boat at the end of June and helped something, but the crisis was not shaken.

– We started production Saturday, both ammonia and CO₂, so now production is back to normal, says Jon Sletten, Yara.

According to Praxair Norway, it will take two to three weeks before they've delayed and has a normal situation in Norway.
