Microsoft launches this week a new update for Xbox One testers who will have the first taste of Dolby Vision . Thus, the game console becomes one of the few devices supporting Dolby Atmos and Vision. Apple TV4K and Google Chromecast Ultra are two streaming devices that support both technologies.
Initially, Dolby Vision support on Xbox One is limited to streaming and Netflix is released first. Note that it is Xbox One S and X, not the first model that is now out of production.
Dolby Vision can be compared to HDR in many ways, but it has several advantages. First and foremost, Vision can benefit from the specifications of individual TVs and have a higher brightness – 4,000 versus 1,000 – than HDR.
