If we're going to see Gordon Hayward again in the old days, he probably will not be until next season, at the earliest.
But with the playoffs approaching, the Boston Celtics forward plays his best basketball of the season.
Hayward began his four-game journey on the West Coast of Boston with 30 points on the Golden State Warriors, then 12 points and a winning shot against the Sacramento Kings. He was comfortable again on Saturday night, scoring 15 points on six out of eight shots in the Celtics' Los Angeles Lakers win.
Hayward's season has been felt like a roller coaster since the beginning. For each strong game, there are two ugly performances. However, the truth is that Hayward has steadily improved over the seasons.
He has, however, pushed his game to another level in California.
Once again, Hayward is far from the same player as Utah Jazz. He is not as explosive when he goes to the basket, and his defense varies from mediocre to just satisfactory.
But if he can continue to give the Celtics performances as he did on Saturday night, he could play a major role in the playoffs.

– James finished with a triple double ho-hum (30 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds), while Irving finished with 30 points, five pennies and seven tables.
– Marcus Smart continued his leap beyond the bow, taking four of the six 3-point attempts while scoring 16 points.
