One of the strong points of Android has always been the notifications, especially with the addition of notification channels by Android Oreo. Each application can have different categories of alerts, with different levels of priority. Android Q Beta 4 makes this feature a little easier to understand, with the addition of colorful icons and guides.

The notification channels page in the application settings received some changes in Android Q Beta 4. The checkboxes and settings were replaced by colorful icons and simple switches. Icons represent the level of priority blue waves mean low priority and the orange icon means high priority.

It's easier than ever to see which channels are going to buzz your phone and which ones will appear silently at the bottom of your notification stack. For people who are not familiar with the notification channels or the meaning of the icons, Android displays small tips on the same screen.

It's always nice to see the features of powerful users reorganized so that more people can understand. The high level of personalization allowed by Android is one of the best features of the platform, but when all options are overwhelmed by users, it can also be a major weakness.
