I was one of the main Snacks teachers at William Penn. Besides being a good football player, he’s a good person. He returns to Okaloosa, Iowa every year for the father-daughter banquet.
Are you serious, Bill? What a small world. Move on, Kevin Bacon. The six degrees of Insider Inbox are real.
Time to call Jared Veldheer?
Unfortunately, he currently resides at Lucas Oil Stadium. The Packers have good reserves and the flexibility of Elgton Jenkins and Billy Turner keeps all options on the table. People keep wondering what the Packers will do without Bakhtiari. I really don’t know because of how many different ways they can organize their starting five.
David Bakhtiari’s knee injury reminded me that when I watch college football it seems like every offensive lineman wears a knee pad on every knee in every game. When I watch the NFL, I rarely notice an O-lineman wearing a knee pad. Is there a reason not all offensive linemen in the NFL wear knee pads during games? Do they wear them in practice?
Questions about the knee pads… I knew you would come.

Just an observation. It’s great to see Jordan Love with an earpiece and standing with a trainer listening, studying and watching. Those who have questioned the choice should keep in mind that this young man is also under a lot of pressure. He is expected to follow two HOF quarterbacks in the first round, which few to no young QBs face.
Love watched and learned. I know it’s been a little quiet because there’s no dressing room open this season, but Love is connected to what he does – just like David Yost said he would be.

Hello Mike / Wes. We all know Aaron Rodgers is having an MVP season with his phenomenal passing numbers, but what credit does he deserve for the success of the racing game as well? The threat of his arm is great to be sure, but how many line adjustments and RPO calls / changes does he make during a game?
I think they complement each other, no different than in 2014 when he was the MVP and Eddie Lacy was one of the best young running backs in the NFL. It’s impossible to say how many RPOs Rodgers call a game, but he has a high batting average when it comes to making offense the best game possible with RPOs – and the Packers only got better. as the season progressed.

Am I the only one watching AJ Dillon and having fond memories of John Brockington, or am I just old?
I prefer the word “experienced”.

Hello Wes / Mike. I remember an astonishing Larry’s Rock Report (“Best Game of All Time”) after the Saints game on a tight end game-action pass, with a false runner (and OL) on one side, and Rodgers coming out of the pocket on the other side. It amazes me how unstoppable this piece is. I just think it’s the perfect piece. We’ve done it 20 times and have always had the first one. I feel like every Rock Report I watch I’m learning something new about the ML team.
I think it comes down to something that offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett has said several times this year – the Packers want all of their runs and pretenses to be alike so the defense can’t figure out where the ball is going to go. . He defies the eyes and the discipline of linebackers and allows Robert Tonyan and tight ends to squeeze into the flat.
Happy New Year II. Comment and a question. It is just devastating news to hear about Bakhtiari. This injury will hamper him for next season, but we all hope he recovers not just to get back on the pitch, but because he seems like the kind of guy I could have a beer with. If you get the chance, tell him your inbox readers are shooting for him. Do you think the Bears are going to plan and organize differently now that they know he won’t play? Will it work to our benefit or theirs?
Maybe they throw a few more stunts on this side of the offensive line again, but I don’t think you’ll see anything drastic. Either way, Khalil Mack usually lines up in front of the right tackle.

Is there a better way to start the New Year than with a win over the Bears?
I can’t think of a better way to start a playoff series.
