Number of confirmed measles cases in Clark County reaches 59

VANCOUVER, Wash. – The Clark County Public Health Service has confirmed six new cases of measles and identified a new place where people may have been exposed to the disease. There are now 59 confirmed cases.

One of the newly confirmed cases concerns another person who received a dose of the measles, mumps and rubella vaccine.

Health officials are investigating a suspect case.

The new exhibition location is Vancouver Clinic Salmon Creek, located at 2525 NE 139th Street in Vancouver. People at this location between 7pm. and 10 am Thursday, February 14 and 10:30 to 3:45 pm Friday, February 15 may have been exposed.

There are currently 43 confirmed cases in children aged 1 to 10 years old. There are 13 cases in children aged 11 to 18 years. There is one case in an adult aged 19 to 29 and two cases in adults aged 30 and 39.

According to the authorities, 52 of the confirmed cases occurred in non-immunized individuals. The immunization status of five cases was not verified and two people received a dose of MMR vaccine.
