No, we didn’t type Deep Learning Super Sampling wrong; NVIDIA DLAA is a brand new technology that will debut in the Elder Scrolls Online MMORPG from Zenimax Online.
The announcement came a few hours ago, during the developer’s last ESO Live stream where Zenimax detailed the upcoming Deadlands Zone DLC and Base Update 32. With this new patch, Elder Scrolls Online will receive support. DLSS, which will be useful for the low end. RTX graphics cards for better performance; However, high-end GeForce RTX GPUs have already run Elder Scrolls Online at a very high frame rate since the last optimization patch, and will now be able to use NVIDIA DLAA instead. It’s basically DLSS minus the scaling part, which means it will be all about quality rather than performance.
Creative Director Rich Lambert said:
While we were working on adding NVIDIA DLSS we also worked with them on new technology that we are going to be the first game to have done this before. This is the launch of their new technology, called NVIDIA DLAA. It’s the same kind of concept, you won’t get any performance improvement, but what you get is absolutely amazing anti-aliasing. It’s amazing, it’s crazy how good it is.
Alex Tardif, chief graphics engineer at Zenimax Online (whom we recently interviewed), explained on Twitter:
Some exciting additions have just been announced to our ESO feed for our next fall content update.
The first is DLSS! Another welcome lift to our now 7-year-old MMO.
The second is a novelty from NV (1/3)

We’re adding a new option for NVIDIA Deep Learning Anti-Aliasing (DLAA), using their DL technology, but without the scaling component, at full resolution for fantastic AA quality. On RTX cards, people are already running ESO at high fps, so a pure AA option works fine! (2/3)

Big thanks to the team at NVIDIA for showing off the humor and then helping us post this when we brought up and tested this hijacking of their DLSS technology in its own thing. It’s not something all games would need, but for ESO it made sense. Great stuff <3

This seems like a great option for any game that is already running at a high frame rate. Unfortunately, we didn’t get any preview for NVIDIA DLAA from ESO’s live stream, but the feature should be available on the Elder Scrolls Online public test server soon. We will definitely check it out ASAP and capture some pictures.
Beyond this exciting announcement, Zenimax also announced a slew of quality of life features coming to the game with Update 32, primarily the Armory which will allow players to easily swap out character build loads. , including skills, attributes, equipment, and champion. Points.
